On October 5, 2007 my exhibition, GETTING STARTED - 40 Years of Clay Printing, opened at Gallery 919 Market in Wilmington, Delaware. This show represented a broad range of my work with some of the monoprints dating back to the early ‘80s. Thank you to all who attended the exhibition and made it a success.

To escape the winter cold, I’ve arranged a number of demos/workshops/art shows in Florida this February. See my 2008 workshop schedule on back page. Bea will join me following a weaving workshop she is taking at the Manning’s in East Berlin, PA.
9th Summer Workshop in Santa Fe (It never grows old)
I am scheduled to teach a week-long clay printing workshop at IAIA (Institute of American Indian Arts) from June 30 - July 4, 2008. This is a state-of-the-art facility with a large and well-equipped studio, just a 15-minute drive from The Plaza in Santa Fe. This class fills up quickly—don’t miss out! COME TO TUSCANY
I have been invited to teach a two-week Colored Clay/Clay Printing Workshop at La Meridiana, International Centre of Ceramics in Tuscany, from October 12-25, 2008. La Meridiana is located in the heart of Tuscany, where the centre enjoys beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. It is located just 8 kilometers from the medieval town of Certaldo, and is only 45 minutes by train to Florence and Siena. La Meridiana will provide spacious well-equipped studio space, lodging and board, a choice of side trips with cultural activities such as wine tasting, cooking classes, concerts, and ground transportation to and from the centre. I can’t express the wonderful possibilities this experience has to offer. This will be an amazing opportunity for personal creativity and cultural enrichment for all. DVD News
Several museums and ceramic suppliers now carry the DVD Handbuilding with Mitch Lyons. This is a two-part DVD, produced in Spring 2007, in which I share my technique for adding textures and colored clays to the clay form, using the “broomstick” method.
